EHS Manager
On behalf of our client, Manpower Malta is seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the organisations Health & Safety Management System. Reporting to senior operations leadership, the role ensures full compliance with local legislation, ISO standards and internal requirements, while supporting a strong safety culture across all sites. The position also includes internal auditing across quality, food safety and environmental systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, maintain and improve the Health & Safety Management System in line with Maltese legislation and ISO 45001.
- Identify H&S risks across operations and ensure appropriate controls, procedures and documentation are in place.
- Monitor and communicate all relevant H&S legal obligations to management, employees and contractors.
- Develop annual EHS plans and budgets to support organisational safety objectives.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits for ISO 45001 and other standards.
- Develop and deliver H&S training for employees, contractors and third parties.
- Lead investigations of accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring effective corrective actions.
- Conduct supplier, contractor and on‑site H&S inspections for legal and internal compliance.
- Audit quality (ISO 9001), food safety (FSSC 22000) and environmental systems (ISO 14001).
- Support the development and continual improvement of the Environmental Management System.
- Facilitate EHS Committee meetings, maintain documentation and support emergency preparedness.
Qualifications & Skills
- Preferably registered (or working toward registration) as a Competent Person with OHSA Malta.
- IOSH and/or NEBOSH certification strongly preferred.
- Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Maltese H&S legislation and OHSA guidelines.
- Experience with ISO 45001 and exposure to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and FSSC 22000.
- Proven experience in incident investigation, auditing and procedure development.
- Excellent communication, training and influencing skills.
- Strong organisational, analytical and report‑writing abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Proactive leadership mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
