IT Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Operations Specialist to join our dynamic technology team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a stable and secure IT infrastructure while contributing to operational excellence. The selected candidate will be instrumental in supporting systems, ensuring uptime, and collaborating on continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting directly to the IT Operations Manager, this role involves both hands-on technical support and strategic input into infrastructure reliability and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the ongoing performance and availability of IT systems through daily operational support and proactive system monitoring.
  • Deliver end-user and infrastructure support across hardware, software, networking, and cloud platforms.
  • Manage and administer environments based on Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365, and Azure.
  • Operate and maintain virtualized environments (e.g., VMware) and implement reliable backup and recovery strategies.
  • Contribute to the implementation and enforcement of cybersecurity controls and compliance measures.
  • Monitor IT infrastructure using specialized tools and respond promptly to incidents or performance issues.
  • Document procedures, configurations, and operational workflows to ensure knowledge sharing and system transparency.
  • Support the evolution of IT processes and contribute to defining technical best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to optimize service delivery and system scalability.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure operations or support.
  • Proficient in Microsoft environments including Active Directory, Azure AD, Exchange, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and domain controllers.
  • Practical experience in managing virtualization platforms, particularly VMware, along with enterprise backup solutions.
  • Sound understanding of networking principles, especially Cisco technologies.
  • Strong commitment to cybersecurity and experience supporting secure IT environments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities with a solution-focused mindset.
  • Ability to document technical processes clearly and accurately.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to translate complex issues for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset with proven success working in cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to adapt to non-standard work hours when required.

Nice-to-have
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified, VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA, or ITIL 4 Specialist: Create, Deliver, Support.
  • Previous experience in IT operations within telecommunications, managed services, or similar fast-paced industries.
