Academic Director

On behalf of our client, Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit an Academic Director to join our clients team. This person will lead and manage the academic operations of an online university. This role calls for a strategic yet hands-on leader who can guide program directors, set academic standards, and continuously enhance the quality of our courses.

The ideal candidate has solid experience in higher education, is fluent in English, and combines strategic vision with a practical, results-driven approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate the work of Program Directors across various academic programs.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality education.
• Develop, implement, and maintain academic guidelines, policies, and standards to align with institutional objectives.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to enhance curriculum design and ensure relevance to current market and industry trends.
• Actively participate in day-to-day academic operations, ensuring smooth processes and high standards of academic integrity.
• Evaluate and continuously improve curriculum and teaching methods to maintain excellence in online and hybrid education.
• Promote innovation and best practices in digital learning and instructional design.
• Serve as the primary liaison between faculty, administrative teams, and external academic or accreditation bodies.
• Represent the institution in academic partnerships, conferences, and professional networks.

Requirements:

• Advanced degree in a relevant field (PhD preferred).
• Proven experience in academic leadership within higher education, ideally in an online or hybrid learning environment.
• Strong understanding of curriculum development, quality assurance, and academic operations.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Italian is considered an asset.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with strong leadership presence.
• Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to manage both strategic and operational tasks.
• Collaborative mindset and adaptability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
