Restaurant Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Supervisor to join our team in a well-established café-restaurant. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, providing excellent customer service, and leading a team of staff to meet performance and quality standards. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with leadership skills and a passion for the food and beverage industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and high service standards.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the team, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Manage staff schedules and allocate duties effectively.
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional manner.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely stock replenishment.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates and address any concerns.
  • Assist in setting and meeting sales targets and operational goals.
  • Support the team during busy periods, stepping into various roles as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the café at all times.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or similar role within the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards related to food service.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Maltese is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a café or restaurant setting.
  • Basic knowledge of financial management (budgeting, cost control, etc.).
  • Experience using Point of Sale (POS) systems.

Job Info:

  • Type of Contract: Indefinite direct with our client.
  • Salary: Depending on experience
  • Working Hours: Monday to Sunday with 2 days off and shifting as follows:
    • 1st Shift 7:00 - 16:00
    • 2nd Shift 12:00 - 20:00 (Saint Julian till 22:00)
  • Job Location: Valletta and Saint Julian
  • Candidate location: Must be already living in Malta
