Junior AML Officer

Key Responsibilities:
- Handle client onboarding and ongoing monitoring
- Implement customer due diligence measures using a risk-based approach
- Conduct screening, address alerts, and escalate when necessary with clear reasoning
- Manage compliance department emails and maintain internal registers for accurate record-keeping
- Execute AML procedures in line with the AML handbook
- Use AML software to complete client data and run risk assessments for approval
- Support the Compliance Executive with tasks and client requests
- Attend training sessions and actively contribute to team development
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in law, criminology, banking, or related fields (preferred but not essential)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in corporate services, banking, or audit environments in Malta
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills
- Logical reasoning with a problem-solving, can-do attitude
- Strong client service skills with the ability to handle inquiries and resolve issues
