On behalf of our client, Manpower Malta is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Deli to lead and oversee deli operations across our supermarket network in Malta. The ideal candidate is proactive, passionate about food and service, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. You'll ensure that every deli department delivers top-quality products, exceptional customer experiences, and consistent operational excellence.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of deli departments across multiple store locations.
Lead, train, and motivate deli teams to maintain high standards of presentation, hygiene, and customer service.
Monitor sales performance, stock levels, and profitability across all deli counters.
Ensure consistent quality, freshness, and compliance with food safety standards.
Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Support store managers in managing staffing levels, scheduling, and training needs.
Introduce new product lines and seasonal promotions in collaboration with procurement and marketing teams.
Conduct regular site visits across all deli locations to ensure brand standards are met.
Analyze performance data and provide regular reports to senior management.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability.
Proven experience in deli, food retail, or supermarket operations management.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality control standards.
Proactive and hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Flexibility to travel frequently between store locations across Malta.
A valid driving license and own transport.
