Purchasing Clerk
Manpower Malta, on behalf of our client are currently seeking a Purchasing Clerk to join a dynamic and growing team within a leading food distribution company.

About the Role
As a Purchasing Clerk, you'll be an integral part of the Purchasing Department, acting as a key liaison between the Sales Department, Stock Control, suppliers, and freight forwarders. Your main mission: ensure consistent product availability and support smooth purchasing operations through effective stock monitoring, ordering, and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Confident use of the ISL system for purchasing and reporting.
- Regular communication and coordination with local and international suppliers and freight forwarders.
- Generate and analyse weekly sales reports to identify reorder needs.
- Create and manage Purchase Orders based on stock levels, sales data, and lead times.
- Oversee shipping timelines, product costings, and delivery status.
- Ensure product labels comply with EU and local food safety regulations.
- Support warehouse teams in tracking shipments and confirming deliveries.
- Maintain organized documentation and liaise with Finance for payment processing.
- Promote high standards of safety, cleanliness, and confidentiality within the department.
Requirements
- A good level of secondary education.
- Experience in the food industry is highly preferred.
- Solid skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Previous experience in logistics or purchasing is an asset.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Able to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and multitask under pressure.
- A proactive mindset and a positive, can-do attitude.
