Outdoor Landscaper
Overview
Manpower is seeking to recruit an Outdoor Landscaper to join our client's team. The role of a landscaper is to build and maintain gardens, parks and other outdoor landscapes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions from the crew leader and clients
- Plants new flowers, trees, grass, hedges and bushes
- Maintains gardens and lawns, including mowing, trimming, pruning, raking and weeding
- Waters plants and lawns and adds fertiliser as needed
- Installs outdoor lighting, irrigation systems and sprinkler systems
- Builds and renovates stone pathways, patios and ledges
- Loading and unloading equipment and tools into work vehicles
- Drives work vehicles to and from sites
- Adheres to all safety precautions
- Uses equipment, including tractors, mowers, and leaf blowers.
- Advising others on the long-term care and development of a landscape
- Be in touch with new products within the industry to be able to always be number one in our industry
Requirements:
- Must have experience using power tools and machinery such as chainsaws/bobcats/forklifters/highups/fertiliser spray etc
- Knowledge of horticulture methods and materials, landscaping and cultivation of trees and plants is an asset
- Knowledge of plant diseases and their cure
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade
- Ability to perform grounds maintenance tasks
- Skill in interpreting and completing landscape plans
- Knowledge of fertilizer and/or pesticide applications
- Passion for plants
- Problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects
- Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures
- Speak Maltese and/or English
- A valid driving license - category B
