Senior Legal Adviser
Overview
Manpower is seeking to recruit a Senior Legal Adviser to join our client's team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing expert legal and regulatory advice to iGaming clients and other regulated industries on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters;
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including but not limited to service-level agreements, supplier contracts, white-label agreements, intellectual property and software licensing agreements and other sector-specific arrangements;
- Advising clients on licensing requirements, ongoing compliance obligations and applicable regulatory frameworks within the iGaming sector and other regulated industries;
- Liaising with regulatory authorities, including the Malta Gaming Authority and other competent authorities, on behalf of clients;
- Supporting clients in relation to mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, restructuring and other commercial matters;
- Providing strategic input on risk management, regulatory developments and business opportunities relevant to the iGaming industry and other regulated sectors;
- Monitoring developments in Maltese and EU law and ensuring timely communication of relevant changes to the Legal Team, Senior Management and clients;
- Preparing and delivering client updates, legal briefings and presentations on matters of commercial and regulatory law;
- Collaborating with Groups Compliance, Tax and Corporate Services teams to deliver comprehensive and integrated solutions to clients;
- Mentoring and supporting junior members of the Legal Team, fostering knowledge-sharing, professional growth and team development.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role within the advisory space;
- A Doctor of Laws (LL.D) and/or Master of Advocacy (M.Adv) degree (or EU/EEA recognised equivalent), along with a valid warrant/authorisation to practice law in Malta;
- Proven expertise in commercial and corporate law, with significant exposure to iGaming and/or other regulated sectors and excellent knowledge of Maltese corporate, commercial and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven track record in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Experience liaising with regulatory authorities, particularly the Malta Gaming Authority, will be considered an asset.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to provide business-oriented legal solutions.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Maltese will be considered an advantage.
