Manpower Malta on behalf of our client are seeking and Accountant to join our clients existing accounts team.
Responsibilities
To prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports and management accounts in a timely manner
To prepare monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports by the specified deadlines
To prepare annual financial budgets and prepare/update 3-year financial projections
To prepare cash flow forecasting and related analysis
To prepare annual draft financial statements
To plan and support external auditors in carrying out the financial audit of the companies. This includes preparing all the audit deliverables in advance of the scheduled audits.
To prepare income tax computations, tax payments and other related tax reporting
To prepare and submit statutory reporting (e.g. NSO)
To prepare and submit VAT returns and other VAT related declarations
To assist in internal audits and ensure compliance to internal control framework
To ensure that stock counting policies are adhered to (where applicable)
To ensure quality control over financial transactions and reports
To record fixed assets acquisitions and disposals and to investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets.
To take full ownership of the accounting ledgers, post to ledgers, carry out bank and other reconciliations and prepare end of month and year-end accounting.
To review and approve payments
To plan, assign and review the data processors work
To ensure a high quality/standard of work and service throughout.
To perform any other duties which may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
Master in Accountancy (University of Malta) or a professional certification such as ACCA or CIMA
Certified Public Accountant
5 years or more experience in an accountant role, ideally in a destination management company or similar business
Ability to analyse financial data and provide strategic insights
Strong organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
