Tax Advisor

Our client, one of the leading corporate service providers in Malta, is looking to recruit a Tax Advisor.

The successful chosen candidate will form part of a dynamic team that handles a predominantly international clientele operating across a wide range of industries as well as the firms private clients. The role is therefore ideal for someone who wishes to broaden their experience and take on a challenge.

General Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for developing technical knowledge in, advising on, and the fulfilment of the compliance obligations of the Employer and its group companies, with respect to FATCA, CRS, DAC and similar tax driven laws and regulations from time to time.
• Lead and coordinate technical tax training internally and externally.
• Leading, and assisting, the Employer with advising clients on technical tax issues such as DAC, ATAD, Transfer Pricing rules, Pillar 2, the anticipated overhaul of the Maltese corporate tax regime and similar highly technical tax matters going forward.
• Develop and implement tax-related processes and procedures.
• Manage a small portfolio of clients and provide tax advisory services.
• Represent the employer at conferences to promote the organisations tax expertise.
• Conduct research and apply findings to provide tax advisory services to clients as well as publish articles and papers.
• Support the growth of the Tax Advisory practice.
• Perform other duties assigned by the employer or associated companies.

Requirements of the ideal Candidate:

• Fully qualified accountant
• Minimum two years of work experience in this sector
• Possession of the professional certificate in in taxation. Naturally if the candidate is not in possession of the professional certificate in taxation, then ones work experience will have to compensate for this and the candidate should be willing to undertake this certification, if needed.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
• Excellent written and spoken English
