Junior Finance Assistant

Overview
Manpower is seeking to recruit a Junior Finance Assistant who will provide essential support to the Finance team, ensuring efficient processing of financial transactions and maintaining accurate financial records. This role involves handling accounts payable and receivable tasks, performing monthly reconciliations, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. The Junior Finance Assistant works closely with team members to ensure that all financial data is up-to-date, compliant, and easily accessible. The role also involves assisting with expense tracking, documentation, and other general administrative duties, contributing to the smooth operation of the finance function within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including data entry, invoice verification, and reconciliation.
  • Monitor payment due dates and assist in ensuring all payments are made accurately and timely.
  • Input financial data accurately into company systems and maintain up-to-date and organized financial records.
  • Support data management initiatives to ensure accuracy, compliance, and easy retrieval of financial information.
  • Assist with monthly expense reconciliations, ensuring all expenses are accurately tracked and reported.
  • Support the review and processing of employee expense claims in line with company policies.
  • Assist in performing monthly bank reconciliations, identifying discrepancies, and supporting resolution.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Collaborate with senior finance team members in preparing year-end financial reports and audits.
  • Support compliance initiatives by ensuring all financial documents and transactions meet internal and external audit requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and assist with the filing of financial records in line with data protection and financial regulation standards.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including handling correspondence, preparing documents, and scheduling meetings.
  • Assist in other ad hoc financial duties as required by the Finance Manager and senior finance staff.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Senior management or the Core team.
  • Individual performance objectives will be set on an annual basis.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum qualification of A-Level in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a diploma or degree is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with financial software or willingness to learn (experience with accounting software is a plus).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, with basic knowledge of financial calculations and formulas.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Prior experience in a finance or accounting role is preferred but not essential.
  • An internship or trainee position within a finance team would be advantageous.
  • A proactive and eager-to-learn approach with a positive attitude towards teamwork.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional demeanour.
