Head of Project Design
On behalf of our Client, Manpower is seeking to recruit a Head of Project Design.
About the Role:
As Head - Project Design, your tasks will include:
Technical Responsibilities
- To coordinate innovative design strategies for a wide range of infrastructure and public space projects.
- Manage and oversee the development of architectural, urban, and landscaping design concepts as a foundation for urban project briefs.
- Collaborating with public/private stakeholders to achieve integrated planning and optimal design outcomes.
- Assist management with planning initiatives through analysis reports and recommendations through urban design research, analysis, and studies.
- Provide technical guidance to other units within the Agency particularly during project tendering and implementation.
- Direct the review of various architectural and urban design proposals submitted by different stakeholders including public agencies, community groups, developers, architect firms, tenders, and other private/public entities.
- Promote, pursue, and encourage teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Agency while guiding staff in decision-making, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Identifying, assessing, managing, and addressing potential risks and constraints in relation to the implementation and operational aspects of design concepts.
- To formulate and articulate policies and strategies through the development of detailed master planning.
- Provide oversight for architecture, urban and landscaping design team.
- Ensure adherence to quality, budget, and deliverable timeframes.
To conduct other related duties as required by senior management.
Requirements:
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to be used to communicate alternative design solutions in a collaborate and positive manner.
- Demonstrate experience collaborating, negotiating, and resolving conflict related to urban design issues between stakeholders, the public, politicians, administration and other levels of government.
- Ability to use and/or oversee use of computer aided tools such as SketchUp, Rhino, AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop.
- High level of analytical and creative skills. Ability to explore creative and unique solutions to complex interpersonal, professional, technical and administrative problems.
- Knowledge in best practices of architectural design and knowledge of local planning and design legislation.
- Ability to manage and monitor work performance within a team including ability to:
- Evaluate work program and objectives
- Establish organisational goals
- Realigning work and staffing assignments for the team
- Advanced knowledge of architectural and design principles and concepts, sustainable urban models and sustainable construction methods.
- Must be in possession of a Perit Warrant or Civil Engineering warrant
