Junior Sales Manager

On behalf of our client, Manpower is seeking to recruit a Junior Sales Manager.

Overall Purpose

  • To maximize sales of the companys brands in accordance with agreed plans.
  • To contribute in the development of subordinates and to direct their work, whilst demonstrating, implementing and maintaining the Company's core values.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To achieve both short and long-term objectives for sales growth
  • To achieve maximum market penetration for the company's products.
  • To develop and implement sales campaigns for the products provided by the Company.
  • To review analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department progress towards stated goals and objectives.
  • To liaise with the company's General Manager to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current conditions.
  • To be responsible for the planning and implementation of commission structures for sub-ordinates.
  • To be responsible for the planning and implementation of the sales routes.
  • To supervise the Company's sales force and direct subordinates in meeting their work objectives and monthly targets; and ensure that all efforts done are in line with the Company's mission and objectives.
  • To establish a good relationship with all members of staff thus ensuring that they are motivated to work to the maximum of their capabilities.
  • To make recommendations to senior management on measures that could be taken by the Company to create a working environment that motivates employees to attain high levels of efficiency.
  • To coordinate with other Departments on developments required to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction.
  • To set appropriate feedback mechanisms to assess effectiveness of sales campaigns.
  • To identify and rectify gaps in competence within the Company related to the sale of Company products.
  • To implement effective invoicing and cash collection systems.
  • To participate in market research activities related to the products provided by the Company.
  • To monitor customer contact activities related to products provided by the Company.
  • To represent the Company during community projects and at public, social, and business gatherings. This avenue is used to make new contacts for new business, and to meet with current business contacts in a social context.
  • To lead/participate in, management committees on special studies and special projects.
  • To implement annual sales budgets and relevant respective margins assisted by the General Manager.
  • To implement and subsequently produce reports on sales statistics and commissions.
  • To monitor stock levels within the Confectionary and Coffee section and implement FIFO method to ensure that no stock in the stores reaches the expiry date.
  • To maintain accurate records of all pricing, sales and activity reports submitted by the Sales Force and team members.
  • To monitor aged debtors analysis with the Credit Control Manager and Brand Executives.
  • To maintain contact with all clients in the market to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • To keep oneself updated on developments in Sales Management.
  • To keep oneself informed on competitors' moves and products.
  • To attend weekly Management Team Meetings.
  • To be responsible for leave data and data-track system.
  • To assist the Human Resources department on matters related including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • To set examples for the Sales Force in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills and work habits.
  • To conduct regular coaching and mentoring with the Sales Force to build motivation and selling skills.
  • To demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
  • To ensure a high quality/standard of work and service throughout.
  • To perform any other duties which may be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • Sales experience in fast-moving consumer goods;
  • Be customer orientated;
  • Problem solving, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Be smart and reliable at all times.
  • A very good command of written and verbal communication skills in English
