HSSE Coordinator

Job Description

  • To support the HSSE Executive and ensure that all work practices are in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
  • To monitor employees and make sure they are working in line with safe practices.
  • Issue work permits in the absence of the HSSE executive.
  • Monitor contractors to ensure that they are working relevant to health and safety regulation and as specified by local environment legislation.
  • To support the HSSE Executive in environmental management systems and ISO 14001 audits.
  • To take ownership of the waste management data systems recording and reporting on all waste streams.
  • To assist in the upkeep of all health and safety equipment, ascertain that that equipment is up to standard and regularly checked and tested (firefighting systems, fire extinguishers, hose reels, fire hydrants, fire alarms, fire pumps).
  • Assists in managing new projects relevant to health, safety, and environment.
  • To monitor training expiry dates and to assist in booking/coordinating training courses.
  • To assist and coordinate HSSE maintenance call outs.
  • To perform general administrative support / assistance and other related duties as and when required.
  • To ensure a high quality/standard of work and service throughout.
  • To perform any other duties which may be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

Essential knowledge to read as follows:

Strong administrative skills.

Excellent knowledge in excel.

Ability to act professionally & discreetly.

Excellent verbal & communication skills.

Flexible and able to work under pressure and handle projects.

Excellent attention to detail.

Willing to learn and advance career in HSSE.

Previous experience in ISO 14001, and/or knowledge of Health and Safety will be considered an asset.
