Financial Controller

On behalf of our client we are looking to hire Financial Controller.

This is a high-impact position offering exposure to a multi-entity structure, where the successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening financial reporting, enhancing internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making.

The role requires a hands-on finance professional who can operate at both a detailed operational level and a strategic management level, working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, ensuring an efficient month-end closing process
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis across assigned entities
• Provide clear and actionable financial insights to support strategic, operational, and commercial decisions
• Strengthen internal controls, reporting standards, and audit readiness procedures
• Ensure compliance with VAT, statutory reporting, and other regulatory obligations
• Improve cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and financial planning processes
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to drive margin improvement and enhance overall business performance
• Coordinate finance activities across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring consistency and alignment
• Support ERP and accounting system enhancements, as well as broader finance transformation initiatives

Candidate Profile

• Professionally qualified (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar senior finance role
• Proven experience in a multi-entity, group, or international environment
• Strong financial analysis, reporting, and business partnering skills
• Solid understanding of internal controls, compliance, and finance process improvement
• Commercially minded, proactive, and hands-on approach
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and seniority levels
• Fluent in English and Maltese
