Manpower is currently seeking skilled and safety-conscious Mechanical Fitter to join a dynamic client maintenance team working at Freeport. The successful candidates will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment in an industrial environment.
This role requires working at heights, so applicants must be comfortable with and trained for elevated work.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble, install, align, and maintain mechanical equipment, machinery, and components
Diagnose mechanical issues and carry out repairs on industrial systems
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
Operate hand and power tools in accordance with safety standards
Work safely at heights using appropriate fall protection equipment and procedures
Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics
Collaborate with other maintenance and engineering staff to ensure minimal downtime
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in an industrial or marine environment
Certification or training in mechanical fitting or a related trade
Comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding environments
Good understanding of mechanical systems and components
Ability to read technical documentation and blueprints
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Commitment to workplace safety standards
Preferred:
Previous experience in port, shipyard, or large industrial settings
Knowledge of hydraulic or pneumatic systems
