On Behalf of our client, Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit a Reservations Agent, who besides being responsible in overseeing and monitoring the clerical duties of the Reservations Department, is responsible for the generation of bookings/revenue deriving from the direct foreign and local booking segments. The role includes day-to-day liaising with the Sales Team to control business flow and manage revenues through yielding, to achieve the set revenue targets.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To ensure that all bookings and rooming lists are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- To assist with the allocation of rooms
- To actively process any requests and book supplementary services including taxis, car hire, food-packs, Spa services and similar items.
- Conducting a daily basic audit of the following day arrivals.
- Corresponding with new leads and existing producers whose requests are expected to be replied to within 24 hours.
- Attending daily briefings, reviewing the daily activities including house count, forecasted business, catering activities, meetings and appointments as well as raising any points relevant to the Reservations Department.
- Preserving excellent levels of internal and external levels of communication, both verbally and in writing, while identifying both hotels and customers needs and respond proactively to their requirements.
- Providing a two way communication and nurturing an ownership environment with an emphasis on motivation and teamwork.
- Assisting or provide clerical assistance to the Sales Team when it comes to managing the remaining Club members.
- Helping out with room move requests, billing issues and other queries that may arise from time to time.
- Assisting the Sales Team in greeting, meeting and hosting existing or new prospective customers, outside office hours with the ultimate intention of generating revenue.
- Discussing, reviewing and implementing action on how existing systems can be improved or how these can be made more effective.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
- Ensuring that all the teams training requirements are met either internally or by liaising with the Management team to possibly source external training.
- Prepared to work additional hours to meet the requirements of the department and/or to fill in for any colleague/s on vacation/sick leave.
- Any other tasks commensurate to the role.
