Forklift Technician

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Forklift Technician to join our client's team. Whether your background is in mechanical or electrical systems, we value both skill sets and are looking for technicians who can diagnose, repair, and maintain forklift equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with either mechanical or electrical components and be eager to troubleshoot various forklift issues to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Perform regular maintenance checks and preventative maintenance services.
• Replace or repair components such as batteries, brakes, engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and parts inventories.
• Collaborate with other technicians and service teams to resolve complex issues.
• Provide timely, professional, and effective service to clients.
• Stay updated on new equipment and service procedures.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Forklift Technician or in a similar role (e.g., heavy equipment technician, automotive technician), with expertise in either mechanical or electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of forklift components, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex issues with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures when working with material handling equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one is a plus.
