Project Planner

Responsibilities:

  • Working on a full-time basis, the chosen candidate will primarily be responsible for:
  • Carrying out the duties of a Project Planner including but not limited to planning, scheduling, sequencing, site logistics and support of project management, and construction management;
  • Preparing, managing and updating planning programmes and schedules as required, using appropriate tools while tracking project milestones and deliverables, communicating as needed with the project team throughout;
  • Ensuring full knowledge and understanding of the sequencing of work adopted in the programmes;
  • Supporting the Senior Partner with the development and delivery of progress reports and any other reports requested, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations;
  • Preparing explanatory drawings in Acad or other similar programmes/software;
  • Measuring, quantifying and estimating works and production rates from drawings and records;
  • Assisting the Project Management Team to put together monitoring schemes and updating them periodically as required;
  • Assisting the Project Management Team to prepare progress analysis reports on a periodic basis and as required;
  • Assisting and being proactive in the preparation of case studies, alternative what-if scenarios and preparing related reports that may be required by the Project Management Team to demonstrate alternative courses of action that may be required to mitigate delays, identify problems and propose possible solutions;
  • Proactively managing changes, identify potential crises, and devising contingency plans when and as necessary.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, national and international health and safety and construction/industry regulations.
  • Supporting and following up on QA/QC project plans and associated communications documents for the different projects;
  • Planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools while tracking project milestones and deliverables, communicating as needed with the project team throughout;

Requirements:

  • You have a bachelors degree in a related field, such as Construction or Project Management.
  • You have a proven track record with several years experience working in a construction environment and with Project Planning delivery of complex and/or large scale projects, including residential, commercial, infrastructural, medical health-care units, luxury hotel projects etc.
  • You would preferably have an MRICS/FRICS and/or other recognised Project Management certification;
  • You are highly cognizant and abreast with all applicable standards, legislations and practices applicable to the construction industry in Malta, having also technical and commercial acumen of infrastructural and large scale projects;
  • You are proficient in the use of AutoCad, Primavera and MS Project, as well as Microsoft Office. Knowledge in BIM and/or other related design systems would be considered an asset;
  • You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • You are able to work under pressure and to work closely with others in a multidisciplinary environment;
  • You have attention to detail, influencing skills, assertiveness and the ability to understand and express technical concepts accurately with confidence and clarity;
  • You are analytical and have a measured approach to decision-making, being able to take decisions as and when needed in the interest of efficiency;
  • You demonstrate resilience, leadership and negotiation skills;
  • You have excellent planning and organisation skills, a high level of integrity and you are a motivated team player demonstrating an eager and positive work ethic;
