Sous Chef
Overview
Manpower is seeking to recruit a Sous Chef to join our client's team.
As a Sous Chef, you will report to the Executive Chef/Head Chef to oversee kitchen operations, menu planning, staff management, and ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation. You should have a deep understanding of Mediterranean flavours, techniques, and ingredients, with a strong leadership presence to guide a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Mediterranean menu, ensuring creativity, authenticity, and seasonal updates.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring all team members are aligned with restaurant standards.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
- Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and safety.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies, ensuring efficient use of resources and maintaining cost control.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and execute special events, promotions, and menu tastings.
- Assist in managing the kitchen budget, controlling food costs, and minimizing waste.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, motivating the team to deliver outstanding service.
- Provide feedback and performance evaluations for kitchen staff.
- Any other task commensurate to the role.
