Financial Controller
Manpower is seeking to recruit a Financial Controller to manage our client's Finance Department ensuring all internal financial commitments across the European region are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Review monthly management accounts for the European entities to ensure accuracy of
- technical provisions and reasonableness of non-technical postings.
- Review P&L variance analysis and BS reconciliations at month end.
- Support the forecasting and budgeting process.
- Produce monthly cash flow analyses and forecasts.
- Review Group deliverables before submission to the FC, Europe
- Prepare minutes of Reserve Review meetings.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive - Europe, Senior management or
- the Core team.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage the members of the European Finance team and identify their personal
- development needs. Monitor and mentor the AFCs to ensure their performance meets the
- required standards.
- Conduct premium, commission and reserve reviews, to identify key movements, understand
- variances and make recommendations for adjustments if required.
- Support the review of current process and identification of opportunities to deliver
- efficiency and understanding through enhanced analysis/reporting.
Key Success Factors
- Perform monthly operational analyses of the European entities.
- Ensure accuracy of data within the underwriting system.
- Review financial and claims data for internal and external actuaries to support the reserving
- process before submission to FC, Europe.
- Assist in providing greater insight and analysis into business performance through the
- implementation of new MI reports, financial models and processes.
- Participate as required in evaluation of new systems integrations.
- Assist in the establishment of and compliance with relevant internal controls and
- procedures.
- Perform ad hoc analyses and deep-dive reviews as required by Management.
- Individual performance objectives will be set on an annual basis.
Requirements
- As a minimum, part ACCA qualified.
- Insurance experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Teamwork demonstrated, along with working on own
- Proactive in identifying issues and proposing solutions to colleagues at all levels, including senior management
- Used to meet demanding deadlines
- Excellent and inclusive communication skills with colleagues at all levels
